MAKA PLAKA - MANGALEM

The "Mangalem" neighborhood complex is unique in the art of construction. It has the shape of a pyramid that imitates the silhouette of the hill, on the top of which the castle is built. Mangalem is one of the most photographed, painted, carved in wood and stone spots; it is the emblem of Berat.
The white houses seem to overlap each other, which is why Berat is otherwise called "the city of one on one windows".
